Macerata Softball, the roster is official in view of the return to A1: here are confirmations and new arrivals

For Macerata Softball the great return to Serie A1 is approaching, whose debut is scheduled for Saturday April 1st in Forlì. The team was presented on the diamond in via Cioci during the first amateur Fastpitch tournament, organized in collaboration with the Macerata Angels and with the sponsorship of the municipality of Macerata.

After having won the last A2 championship by storm, Macerata Softball brings its history back to the Italian top flight, embellished by 5 Italian championships and 5 Champions Cups in the period from 1998 to 2006. The painstaking work of the company in recent years has rebuilt solid technical and organizational foundations, reactivating the thriving Macerata softball movement up to the ascent to A1. The Macerata Softball players are in full preparation to start the championship in the best conditions.

The president’s club Charles Migliorelli and the sporting director Martha Gambella reconfirmed the Cuban manager at the helm of the team Benito France Venturaassisted by the coach Romulus Malerba and from Emanuele Menghi, by the athletic trainer James Gentilucci, from the physiotherapist Patrick Domizie from the coaches Uliana Vallese, Fosca Mariani, Elisabetta Morresi and Elisa Grifagno.

The roster consists of Giorgia Cacciamani, Ilaria Colepio, Emma Fagioli, Chiara Giudice, Elisa Grifagno, Marica Guglielmi, Chantelle Ladner, Marta Lisandroni, Marta Loi, Elisa Lucarini, Luana Luconi, Matilde Migliorelli, Sara Monari, Sofia Porro, Sophia Roberts, Elena Roganti, Michela Serrani , Chiara Severini, Alisya Terrenzio and Gioia Tittarelli.

Alongside the backbone of the team that won the A2, the company has tried to strengthen the workforce with young talents but also players with certain experience: two national teams have arrived from Australia, the pitcher Chantelle Ladner, with experiences in the United States, and the twenty-one year old Sophia Roberts, powerful and fast arm receiver, hope of softball in the land of kangaroos.

Maturity and awareness are awaited by the return of two great exes, the experts Elisa Grifagno (second base in Forlì, Bologna and in the national team) e Sara Monari (pitcher, first baseman, utility for many years in the major league in various formations). With them the twenty-nine year old Clare Judgewho played in Caserta, USA, Legnano, Saronno and Sesto Fiorentino.

Also, acquired Alysia Terrenzio, receiver born in 2005 with great perspective, revelation of A2 in Chieti and already called up by the U18 national team. After the debut in Forlì, Macerata Softball will play its first home game on Saturday 8th April at 11am against Bollate.

The ten teams that will compete for the title of the A1 series are Bollate, Caronno, Castelfranco, Collecchio, Forlì, Macerata, Parma, Pianoro, Saronno and Sestese. The Fastpitch tournament (a variant of the way of playing softball), played by four teams on Sunday 26 March, was won by Macerata Fast Pitch 2023 who beat Elphast Cesena in the final. Previously the team from Macerata had won against Oaks A1-A14 Ascoli Piceno, then third ahead of Red Foxes Roma.
