Manchester City icon to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Guardiola willing to sell for £60m

TEAMtalk understands Manchester City may sell Kevin De Bruyne at the end of the season, with Saudi club Al Nasr keen on the move.

The Saudi Professional League looks at the world’s most famous players in an attempt to build the best league in the world.

They managed to lure the likes of Jordan Henderson and Ruben Neves to the Gulf nation during the summer transfer window, but Other stars like Mohamed Salah could not be persuaded to make the change.

De Bruyne, like Salah, has been a target of SPL hierarchy for some time and TEAMtalk understands he could be persuaded to leave City and European football entirely next summer.

There was no official contact for the 32-year-old during the summer transfer window, but TEAMtalk sources claim he has “sounded out” a move to Saudi Arabia.

De Bruyne has been one of Guardiola’s most important players since joining City from Wolfsburg in 2015, winning it all, including five Premier League titles and a Champions League.

However, the Belgian’s career is coming to an end and City are looking for potential replacements and tactical solutions for life without him.

De Bruyne has also become more injury-prone. He has been sidelined since mid-August with a hamstring injury – an issue that has dogged him over the past two years – prompting Guardiola to consider long-term solutions to his absence.

Manchester City to demand around £60m for De Bruyneso

De Bruyne’s situation at Manchester City has given the Saudi club real hope that they can strike a deal.

He will officially enter the final year of his contract in eight months’ time and TEAMtalk sources say Cityzens are keen to cash in at the end of the season.

Guardiola will be looking to bring in a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, although the manager is clear the Belgian has a huge hole to fill.

Nasr holds the most specific interest in De Bruyne. TEAMtalk understands Cristiano Ronaldo’s side are keen to seal a deal next summer as they aim to fill their squad with household names.

Despite De Bruyne’s age and poor contract situation, he is likely to be worth around £60 million.

If De Bruyne does move to Saudi Arabia, he will become one of the highest-paid players in the world. TEAMtalk sources in Saudi believe Al Nassr can persuade him to take this action.

January will also be an important window for the Saudi Professional League as they continue to be linked with other stars from Europe. Sources familiar with the matter say the summer of 2024 will be one of the biggest spending transfer windows in history.
