Manchester United training ground ‘on par’ with League One clubs after Cristiano Ronaldo criticism

Manchester United academy graduate Charlie Savage claims Reading’s Bellwood training ground is “comparable” to his former club’s facilities.

Savage joined Manchester United’s youth academy at the age of four and made his first-team debut as a substitute against Young Boys in the 2021 Champions League group stage. However, he left the club in the summer, joining League One side Reading on a free transfer.

Savage made his decision to leave Manchester United public when he joined Royals. The Royals were relegated from the Championship last season after being deducted six points and have been deducted two points this season.

Speaking to the club’s media, the 20-year-old praised the training facilities, saying: “The training ground at Reading – I heard it was good but I didn’t realize it was that good. To be honest, I thought Say it’s on the same level as Manchester United at the moment.”

Savic’s comments come amid much criticism of United’s facilities, with Cristiano Ronaldo specifically claiming in his explosive interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV last year that United’s facilities had deteriorated since he left the club in 2009. The facilities have not been upgraded. Real madrid giants league.

“It’s surprising that nothing has changed,” the 38-year-old said. “Not just the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym. Even the kitchen, the chefs, I admire them – lovely people. They stop in time. It amazes me.

“I thought I was going to see other things, technology and infrastructure. Unfortunately we’ve seen a lot of what I saw when I was 21, 22 and 23 years old. It really surprised me. Since Ferguson left, I haven’t seen any evolution in the club.
