The festival director, Cecilia Barrionuevo, stressed that despite the austere programming, this 2021 was a “reunion” in theaters, after a 2020 with virtual edition. “We also bear in mind that it is a very painful moment for many people,” he said in reference to the victims of the pandemic, after which he highlighted that there were 3,000 films received for this year’s selection.

The anime will present with the new production of Ayumu watanabe, in a section for children with Korean films Lee Ji-Won, the Chinese Yawen Zheng, the French Éric Montchaudy, Pablo Polledri; Joaquin Zelaya and Damien Galateo.

“Our focus is to be in theaters and have the international category it deserves,” said the producer of the contest, Cecilia Ten, who informed that those who are invited to the event will have to present the complete vaccination certificate or, in the case of not having it, a negative PCR test.
