After Barbie, the two actors are preparing to work together on a new chapter in the saga begun in 2001 by Steven Soderbergh.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will reunite for the Ocean’s 11 prequel. Producer Josie McNamara spoke about this while speaking at the London Film Festival, where he called the two actors “beautiful together.”
“The whole world wants to see them together in more projects, even beyond the one we’re discussing today,” McNamara said at the Saltburn premiere.
Without providing any spoilers about the project, McNamara promises that the film will be faithful to the original saga, which began more than 20 years ago. “I can’t say much about the film, but I think we’re just trying to pay homage to the series. I’m excited and can’t wait for people to see it when it’s ready.”
This will be Margot and Ryan’s third time on set together, following the big success of Barbie, in which they played Barbie and Ken, respectively, and The Big Short in 2015.
According to Deadline, an Ocean’s 11 prequel has been in development since last year and is rumored to be set in 1960s Europe.
The Oceans franchise was launched by Steven Soderbergh in 2001. The original film, with a star-studded cast of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts, grossed more than $450 million worldwide.
“Ocean’s 8” was filmed in 2018 and became the fourth film in the saga with a female cast, including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway and Sarah Paulson.
