Some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have had great stories, while other MCU superheroes don’t have their true story told in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When fans think of the perfect MCU story, they think of Chris Evans’ Captain America or Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. These characters got the best stories in the MCU because their stories ended beautifully and they had enough time to grow. If Steve Rogers hadn’t gotten a second chance to be with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), his story wouldn’t have been the same.

However, the MCU isn’t perfect, and some characters don’t get as much attention when their stories are told. Over the years, fans have noticed that some characters deserved more, and this is just a quick guide covering just five superheroes who deserved more, despite the MCU being riddled with more heroes. As the Multiverse saga introduces more heroes every year, it seems like there will be more candidates in the MCU that fans will deem ruined after a while.

5. Nick Fury

To be clear, Samuel L. Jackson did a fantastic job as Nick Fury, but the character’s role in the MCU has been lackluster for nearly a decade. When he started the Avengers Initiative and helped bring together various superheroes to fight Loki (Tom Hiddleston), this was the Nick Fury fans loved. Around the time of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), it became clear that Nick Fury’s time in the spotlight wasn’t the same anymore.

Once his role as SHIELD’s director faltered, his role in the MCU became confusing. He was a powerful character with so many resources, but Marvel Studios couldn’t decide what to do with the character. One day he became a key character in Captain Marvel franchise, it seemed like Nick Fury’s story became less interesting because it was mostly about Captain Marvel and Brie Larson’s Skrulls.

Infamous Marvel Secret Invasion proves that Nick Fury’s story should have ended sooner. The Skrull Invasion had nothing in common with the comics and, frankly, was a disappointment for many. Nick Fury’s war against the Skrulls seemed like an afterthought when it should have been something more. While Nick Fury still appears in the MCU, it’s clear that the character is less interesting, which is a shame because he’s one of the reasons the Marvel Cinematic Universe happens.

4. Mercury

Aaron Taylor Johnson played the speedster, and few people remember it. Why? Because Quicksilver died too quickly. Marvel made the strange decision to kill off one of the fastest superheroes in the MCU, forcing him to run under bullets to take one for the team and save Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.

While this sacrifice helped Elizabeth Olsen’s Black Widow unleash more of her fury and stop some of Ultron’s bots, it wasn’t worth it. Like, nothing in that scene deserved to happen because now that mutants are slowly entering the MCU, it’s painfully obvious that Aaron Taylor Johnson was robbed of the role, and it’s a shame that Marvel decided it was worth doing in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

3. Bruce Banner/Hulk

Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk may have had some amazing moments in the MCU, but his track record is all over the place. Marvel doesn’t know what to do with the Hulk most of the time. Sometimes the Hulk is a menacing presence that fans should fear, and sometimes Ruffalo’s version of the Hulk is simply used for awkward comedy that falls flat. After Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Marvel decided that the Hulk and Bruce Banner should be teamed up for Professor Hulk in Avengers: Endgame (2019).

While the idea was interesting, it became really stale when Marvel overused some of the jokes and made the character less powerful once Banner was in the driver’s seat. At Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk: LawyerMark Ruffalo’s role is just confusing and uninteresting because fans want a powerful Hulk and the MCU Hulk is slowly becoming a joke.

On the subject: Development of the second season of She-Hulk has been delayed and delayed

Fans aren’t interested in seeing an Avenger who can only talk about science and can’t make his own movies. Although Marvel did not have the film rights from Universal, it was clear that the character had less time to become interesting because his role was stuck in other MCU projects, causing fans to only see the Hulk in random roles that sometimes seemed going beyond the plot. blue. Marvel still has time to redeem the Hulk, but it looks like they don’t want to put in the effort to make the Hulk a threat again.

2. Adam Warlock

After the Infinity Saga, it’s a shame that Adam Warlock showed up after the Avengers fought Thanos when the character played such a key role in the comics. It was Adam Warlock who used the Soul Stone and used its power to bring back the superheroes that Thanos had dusted off to help turn the tide. Obviously, it wasn’t that simple, but Adam Warlock was a superhero who could take on Thanos any day of the week.

Marvel decided to make Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel the superhero whose powers threatened the Mad Titan, but Adam Warlock’s presence in Guardians of the Galaxy Part 3 (2023) is not very good. It’s sad to see him as a younger version of himself who is still learning because he comes across as a weird superhero who can do a lot of good but is still clueless about some things. Marvel put Adam Warlock in the Guardians of the Galaxy even though he was supposed to be making his own movies and fighting villains on his own, but Marvel Studios isn’t interested in making the superhero stronger in the MCU just yet.

1. Black Widow

Scarlett Johansson deserved much better. Like Nick Fury, she was one of the pillars of the MCU and somehow Marvel screwed it up. She had an amazing story in the Avengers franchise and also appeared in several other films as a supporting character, but it was strange because her story was hardly the focus.

It was clear that Hawkeye and Black Widow would be very easy to make, but Marvel Studios never greenlit the film. Jeremy Renner got his own Disney+ series, which essentially sees him passing the torch to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), while Johansson got her own MCU movie, which was a huge disappointment.

After destroying Taskmaster and giving the superhero a confusing story riddled with plot holes, lackluster CGI and action, Black Widow (2021) took place after the superhero died saving the universe from Thanos. She made a huge sacrifice and then immediately got the movie and it didn’t feel right. The fact that Black Widow was the MCU’s first female superhero and didn’t get her own movie until her story was over is just crazy. Instead of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel being the first MCU movie, the actress deserved to have some of her stories told.

There are a lot of different things Marvel could have focused on, but it’s clear that the MCU wasn’t ready to let a female superhero become the franchise’s leading star when the films first started. If anything, Black Widow is a prime example of what not to do, and we hope Marvel learns from its mistakes.
