Matrix Resurrections to launch 100,000 NFTs as part of its premiere – FayerWayer

Matrix Resurrections is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and it doesn’t come alone. As part of its premiere, they will also sell 100,000 NFTs, something little exploited in today’s cinema.

The fourth installment of the saga starring Keanu Reeves joins the world of non-expendable tokens, a complete revolution in current times.

Matrix Resurrections

In accordance with Business Insider, the initial release of the Matrix Resurrections NFTs will be on November 30. There one or more avatars will be acquired, similar to people trapped within the Matrix.

For the second phase, starting on December 16, the NFT owner will be able to transform the initial avatar by choosing a blue pill, which will keep the user within the Matrix, or a red one, which will lead him to resistance.

The value of each NFT is $ 50.

Matrix Resurrections is directed by Lana Wachowski, and is the fourth film in the series that began in 1999 with The Matrix, followed by The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003).

The film will be released on December 22 both in theaters and on HBO Max.

What are NFTs? Matrix follows its path

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are pieces of digital art with a high value in cryptocurrencies. A token is a unit of reference, and being non-fungible, a specific value is associated with a unique original object.

It constitutes a record for the one who owns a unique digital piece, something invaluable for a collector.

Each non-fungible token represents property, rights and privileges, without being interchangeable with another authentic one and without being divisible.

Matrix Resurrections is not the first film to make use of the NFTs. Space Jam: A New Legacy already did it in July of this year, putting on sale 91 thousand at $ 2.99 each, as he recalls Espinoff.

Each had a different level of rarity, spurring collectors to eagerly search for them. The daily purchase limit was one.

A new world

Sports and entertainment figures, such as Ronaldinho, Gerard Piqué, LeBron James and others, joined the world of the NFT. Ronaldinho recently announced that the Shirtum company, in which the American champion Alejandro “Papu” Gómez invests, will sell non-fungible tokens of his best plays.

A LeBron James digital card sold for $ 208,000.

The most expensive NFT ever was a Beeple artwork called Everydays: The First 5000 Days. It was auctioned by Christie’s house for $ 69.3 million.

Meanwhile, Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, sold his first tweet as NFT for $ 2.9 million.
