Mavericks star Luka Doncic was in deep trouble again, completing an incredible nutmeg pass through the legs of Lakers star LeBron James.
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is always capable of performing magical feats on the hardwood. During the Mavericks’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, Doncic once again found himself deep in the bag, taking a nutmeg pass out of the legs of LeBron James.
As the Lakers’ defense rotates, their defensive space appears to be covered. But for Doncic, there are no closed passing lanes. The Mavericks star found an open Josh Green in the right corner and delivered a bounce pass that passed through James’ legs and directly into Green’s hands. The Lakers seemed confused about how Green was open and how Doncic was able to get the ball to him, so even if Green missed the ball, he was still able to use his sweet time to lock down an open 3-pointer and convert Doncic’s pass. Open three-pointer. Wonderful play.

There’s simply no telling how far Luka Doncic will take his Luka magic on any given night. Will the Mavericks star attack opposing defenses with endless step-back threes? Will he embarrass defenders with his dazzling dribbling moves? Or will he make impossible shots while contorting his body?
Doncic has a long history of making the impossible happen. Back in his rookie season, the Mavericks star hit a 3-pointer from the corner against a defender to send the game into overtime against the Portland Trail Blazers. Last season, Doncic also sent a game into overtime against the New York Knicks when he rebounded a missed free throw and launched an inexplicably difficult double-clutch shot. In that game he scored 60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists.
And earlier this season, Doncic hit a wild rebounding 3-pointer against the Brooklyn Nets, breaking away from former Mavericks teammate Dorian Finney-Smith, again and again.
