Megan Thee Stallion’s Commitment to Mental Health

Megan Thee Stallion Launches ‘Seize The Awkward’ Mental Health Campaign

Megan Thee Stallion is no stranger to mental health struggles. He has spoken several times about the personal and non-personal challenges of dealing with abusive partners and online bullying. Now he has also decided to make a formal commitment by launching a website to help anyone facing mental health challenges related to anxiety, stress and depression.

On Tuesday, September 27, Megan Thee Stallion announced the launch of her Instagram site. SeizeTheAwkward.orgdedicated to everyone who experiences difficulties associated with mental health. In collaboration with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and Jed Foundation (JED) for the new website, in the presentation video Megan tells the words that she has heard for many years: “I was always told that I had to be strong. Thick-skinned. The upper lip is tense. Tough as nails. But being everything to everyone consumes you. It can happen to all of us.”

In the caption for the presentation video, Megan wrote: “Friends, it’s okay to not be okay. Reach out to someone if you see them suffering. Find out how to start a conversation about mental health at SeizeTheAwkward.org. #SeizeTheAwkward.”

This is an amazing gesture from Meghan. The announcement comes just months after another rapper, G Herbo, he founded his own non-profit organization called Swervin’ Through Stress, which helps people deal with mental health issues. It seems like finally mental health is no longer as taboo as it used to be, let’s hope more artists take Megan and Herbo’s lead and stand up for mental health.
