The mexican government reiterated on Thursday its appeal to all specialists of the health, including doctors and nurses specialized to combat the pandemic of coronavirus that already it has claimed the lives of 50 people in the country and the number of transmissions reaches 1,510 infected.

“This re-launch of the call for join efforts are focused on specialist staffwe need those who are trained in the management of the patient, about anyone who requires ventilatory support, i.e., intubation,” said Aelajndro Svarch, holder of coordination the national health Institute of Health Welfare (Insabi).

Svarch, explained that they have already hired thousands of health professionals, and many of them have been sent to different hospitals in different states of the Republic, now that the phase 2 renovation the hospital has started since several days ago.

“At the time, we 6,249 general practitioners; 438 medical specialists; 8,925 nurses with bachelor’s degree; nearly 6,000 nurses techniques; and 84 registered nurses”, said the official of the Insabi. “The disease requires hospital treatment in some cases, we must be prepared for the (patients) that we are going to get there”, he added.

But, due to the structural deficit of human resources in the health sector in Mexico, beyond the contracts already made, they are needed, “some 2,000 additional doctors who sign up to the call”.

Svarch noted that 231 medical specialists have already party to different parts of the country. “To Coahuila send eight interniststo Nutrition about 10 nurses of intensive therapy and at ISSSTE (Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers) about 100 nurses”, enlisted.

However, the deficit is not only of the Insabi. “There is in all the institutions, including the ISSSTE, the IMSS (Mexican Institute of Social Security), the Sedena (Secretariat of National Defense) the Navy (Secretaría de Marina),” he said.

The big problem, he warned the officer, is, in addition to the structural deficit of human resources, the “severe” problem of distribution. “Mexico City has five times more medical Tuxtla (capital of Chiapas)”, exemplified Svarch. “But Tuxtla has to turn four times more doctors than Las Margaritas”, in the same entity, he pointed out.

The goal, he concluded, is that all patients requiring care have the coverage of a committed team and with the level of expertise that is required to combat the coronavirus. “To reach all patients who have COVID-19”, he concluded.

And is that in Mexico the number of cases of people infected by COVID-19 increased to 1,510 patients confirmed, in agreement with the Secretariat of Health (SSa). The number of fatalities increased to 50, that is to say, 13 fatalities, more than it was just 24 hours.

In addition, there are 4,653 suspected cases, 7,822 negative cases, and a total of 13,985 people studied. In a single day, also increased in 132 cases by coronaviruses in national territory.

José Luis Alomía, director general of Epidemiology, said the greater cumulative burden of disease continues in the Mexico citythe State of Mexico, JaliscoPuebla, and Nuevo León. However, the number of cases compared to a population basis shows that the highest rate of incidence is in the states of Aguascalientes and Quintana Roo.
