In the book, the Jets talks about his days playing with the Chicago Bulls legend at the University of North Carolina. He first met the legend while visiting the UNC campus. During his first visit to Chapel Hill, two players, MJ and Buzz Peterson, gave him a tour of the college campus. Reflecting on his experience, the Jets revealed what Jordan thought of him.
After practice and a fun trip to campus, he went out to eat with Jordan and some other players. He recalled Jordan once driving his new blue Monte Carlo. Smith recalled that Jordan was confident in his commitment to UNC.He said, “I’m not sure, I said, I’ll have to think about it. We stopped at a traffic light. He turned to me. “You’re coming, (to UNC) he said.” I’ve added, “You know why? I glanced back at him but said nothing. You have those eyes, he said. Those eyes are just like mine. It’s tiger eyes“.

The Jet recalled that while on tour, he fell ill with the flu. When he asked the two to take him back to his room, Jordan surprised him by offering to take him to the pharmacy to buy medicine. He was moved by the way UNC players treated their teammates.
