Byron showed impeccable timing, taking control of the race in just the final six laps after making bold three-wide passes to Wallace and Chase Briscoe. Byron took a backseat in the race, but his incredible strategy and split-second decisions ensured he was on the podium. A glimmer of hope? It became Byron’s series-leading sixth win of the 2023 season.
Another Hendrick Motorsports stalwart, Kyle Larson, seemed destined for victory. That was until JJ Yeley crashed with 25 laps to go, turning the tide. Larson’s duel with Wallace ended in smoke as he crashed into an exterior wall, ending the race prematurely.
