Back in the 1990s, when Michael Jordan was asserting himself as the greatest player of all time in the NBA, the Bulls icon was a regular on the golf course.
But now I have a master.
But Jordan still loved golf, and his course earned a nickname: “Slaughterhouse 23.”
It got its name because it was designed by Jordan for Jordan to maximize Jordan’s style of play against his opponents, especially when competing against professional golfers for their money.
It was at Grove XIII that Michael Jordan received a $3.5 million supercar for his collection.
Tucked away in the suburbs of Hobe Bay, Florida, Jordan’s ultra-unique golf courses offer an array of fun for recreational golfers, enthusiasts, and professionals alike.
Not just anyone can waltz in at tee time, though.
Back in May 2020, Masters + PGA + Open champion Phil Mickelson revealed that even someone on his profile was forced to join the waitlist.
Total number of club members? According to latest reports, it has fewer than 100 invited members, which is crazy considering it cost $15 to $20 million to build.
This state-of-the-art 18-hole golf course draws inspiration from the Shinnecock Hills and was designed by internationally renowned professional architect Bobby Weed.
It follows a double helix route, which effectively means the course can be played in four 9+9 combinations or in shorter 3 to 6 hole loops.

The 15,000 m² food building consists of men’s and women’s changing rooms, indoor and outdoor seating areas, kitchen and restaurant, and specialty shops.
Golf cart storage and back-of-house space are also located underground.
There’s even a concierge, driving range and learning facilities on site, not to mention drones dedicated to delivering beer and snacks to golfers on the course.
It’s safe to say that Grove XIII is a combination of dunks, holes-in-one, and any other sports metaphor you choose.
