Michael Jordan, a basketball icon known for his unparalleled achievements on the court, has been making headlines recently for adding stunning new additions to his already impressive car collection. The legendary athlete paid a whopping $3.5 million for the Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster, a masterpiece of American engineering and design. The purchase not only adds a unique supercar to his collection, but also fits his status as a connoisseur of fine cars.
The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster is the epitome of performance and luxury. Built by Hennessey Performance, a company that has been modifying cars to achieve extraordinary speed and power since 1991, the Venom F5 aims to surpass the 300MPH mark. The Roadster version is even rarer than the Coupe version, with a starting price of around $3 million due to a limited production run of 90 units.
Jordan chose the Roadster model because he is six feet six inches tall and needed a vehicle that could comfortably accommodate his size. The F5 Revolution Roadster stands out with numerous upgrades over the standard model, including enhanced visual, mechanical and aerodynamic modifications to improve performance. Notably, its design promises to make it the fastest convertible in history.
The Venom F5 Revolution Roadster is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine (dubbed FURY) with 1,817 horsepower, making it the most powerful American production car to date. Despite the power, the car is still rear-wheel drive, sending all its power through a seven-speed single-clutch automatic transmission.
The vehicle’s exclusivity is further underlined by its bespoke specifications, which are tailored to each owner’s preferences, ensuring no two vehicles are the same. The Jordan version, in particular, features a full carbon fiber body with yellow accents, echoing the aesthetics of the Roadster Revolution shown on Hennessey’s official website.
Jordan’s acquisition of the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster is made even more special thanks to the personal involvement of Hennessey Performance founder John Hennessey. Hennessey, an old friend of Jordan’s, personally delivered the supercar to Jordan’s private golf club, The Grove XXIII, in Florida.
