Michael Jordan’s Dynasty Sneakers Up for Auction

A collection of six pairs of sneakers worn by Michael Jordan, considered the greatest basketball player of all time, during his six-year NBA championship run has been auctioned off by Sotheby’s for a record $8 million.

The auction house announced today that the six pairs of sneakers known as the Dynasty Series are Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), and Air Jordan XII (1997). and Air Jordan XIV (1998).

The six pairs also feature the autograph of Michael Jordan, considered one of the greatest athletes in history.

The $8 million sale price was the highest ever paid for a used sneaker.

Bram Wachter, head of modern collectibles at Sotheby’s, said in a statement that the price achieved proves Jordan is the “GOAT” (greatest of all time or best of all time). .

The auction winner also took home a collection of rare photos signed by Bill Smith, showing Jordan sitting in the locker room after winning the 1992, 1993, 1996 and 1998 championships, smiling and wearing only one tennis shoe.
