More than 2,500 people were assisted by security guards in the capital over the weekend

The Women’s and Children’s Hospital reported the following news from 8 p.m. Friday, October 27, to 8 a.m. Monday, October 30:

The adult ward admitted 244 patients, 37 of whom were hospitalized. There were 78 obstetric visits, 98 gynecological visits and 48 medical outpatient visits.

A total of 772 patients were admitted to the pediatric ward, 46 of whom were hospitalized. The causes of emergencies included 173 cases due to respiratory diseases, 118 cases due to various injuries, 59 cases due to gastroenteritis and 8 cases due to dog bites.

There were 36 live births: 23 males and 13 females.

At San Bernardo Hospital, a total of 809 people were on call from 8 a.m. on Friday the 27th to 8 a.m. on Monday the 30th.

Of those receiving treatment, 176 were hospitalized.

A total of 138 people were injured, 65 of whom were injured in traffic accidents:

• 42 motorcyclists
• 15 passers-by
• 4 motorists
• 4 cyclists

In addition, 43 patients were referred from other medical centers on standby assistance.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Señor del Milagro hospital’s emergency room treated 256 patients over the age of 15. The medical needs are mainly for cases of gastroenteritis and pharyngitis.

Arturo Oñativia Hospital received a total of 37 emergency calls on Saturday and Sunday, the main reasons being: diabetic decompensation, urinary tract infections, pharyngitis and chronic kidney disease.

Miguel Lagun

Between 8 pm on Friday, October 27, and 8 pm on Monday, October 30, on-call attendants at the Dr. Miguel Ragone Mental Health Hospital treated 39 people in need of urgent psychiatric and psychological assistance.
