More than 550 people admitted to hospital due to respiratory virus

Acute respiratory infections continue to decrease in primary care and hospitals, associated with lower positivity rates for influenza, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus. As a result, influenza, COVID-19 and RSV infection activity continued to decline in all healthcare areas and across all age groups in the fifth week of the year, according to the Surveillance System for Acute Respiratory Infections (Svira). Finally, from January to the last days of February alone, 150 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Albacete, while in all of 2023 there were 936 hospital admissions.
