Mortal Kombat 1 is very close: the release date is set for September 14, 2023, and it’s time for a classic official launch trailer game that is truly impressive as you can see below.
The video consists of various interlude episodes and gameplay which give a quick but interesting overview of the various main characters on the roster, giving some insight into the various motivations and backgrounds that characterize them, before getting into the meat of the tournament.
It is noteworthy that the trailer provides the first look at Shang Tsung and Reiko in the new chapter, from a gameplay perspective.
There story continues from the end of the previous chapter, with the timeline being reset by Liu Kang, but new wars are on the horizon and the return of Shang Tsung looms with his general Reiko ready for battle.

That’s why in the launch trailer we see various set of moves relating to the game’s most famous characters, as well as some additional looks at some new features that have already appeared in recent days, such as the presence of Jean-Claude Van Damme as an alternative model for Johnny Cage and Nitara, the role of Megan Fox.
Mortal Kombat 1 features a “new origin” as stated in the video, as it takes a different look at the series’ original characters, as well as new ways to play. In addition to a special campaign mode with progressive levels, combat is characterized by almost team-based teams with support characters who intervene in the action to actively change the style of combat.
