Move over, AMD and Nvidia. Chinese GTX-level video cards will enter the market by the end of the year

The Chinese company Jingjia Micro has unveiled two video cards that will go on sale by the end of 2021. AMD and Nvidia may not worry for now.

China seems to be about to dilute the AMD and Nvidia boards in the GPU market. One of the Chinese companies presented two video cards: JM9231 and JM9271. Their performance is unlikely to impress gamers. The former is compared with the GeForce GTX 1050, and the latter with the GTX 1080. At the same time, both cards are inferior to competitors in technical equipment. Why?

  • They are made using 28nm process technology (GTX 1080 – 16nm)
  • They are inferior in performance (8 teraflops for the Chinese card and 8.9 for the GTX 1080)
  • They consume more power. 200W and 150W are Chinese cards, while Nvidia’s counterparts are 180W and 75W.

At the moment, it is not worth saying that Nvidia and AMD should be afraid of the Chinese engineering genius. But everything may change in the future. Both models will hit the market before the end of 2021, the price is still unknown.
