Music at home in Santo Spirito Voice without genres Gal arrives

A “dirty” show that will range from soul to electronica. Today at 21.30 in the square of the Basilica of Santo Spirito for the review of “Il Mondo in Santo Spirito” Gal, or Giulia Galliani, will perform in a trio with Andrea Mucciarelli and Andrea Beninati.

Young Tuscan musicians who have been playing together for many years and have found the right feel to mix jazz, blues, soul and rock music. This trio sees them in a new instrumental offering using drums, guitar, vocals, cello, keyboards, loops and electronics to make the most of songs from the likes of Bjork, Portishead, Thundercat, Nick Drake.

For the third consecutive summer, the Santo Spirito Cone has become a natural viewing platform for the free Il Mondo in Santo Spirito shows conceived and hosted by Bang! Cultural Association” in collaboration with other Florentine associations for some events.

After the success of the 2021 and 2022 exhibitions, the tried and tested format is back with a fusion of cultures, genres and styles capable of developing a valid offer and engaging the public. The program is full of big names: September 6, for example, will be Marco Parente, a singer-songwriter with close ties to Florence. Readings are also of great importance, such as the one scheduled for September 15 with Andrea Cimenti, a singer, songwriter and writer well known to the general public. Interview concerts follow: on September 10, there will be a dialogue with Maria Cassi and Leonardo Brizzi (formerly also known as “Aringa e Verdurini”).

However, the event on 18 August is dedicated to the memory of Carlo Monni, an actor beloved by all Florentines: on this occasion there will be his historic Banda alle Ciance, with a repertoire rich in poetry and popular music. And on August 19 at 21.30 Jacopo Martini Trio, one of the most original guitar interpreters in the style of Django Reinhardt, will perform. On August 25, it will be the turn of the Less Jazz Quartet, whose repertoire is based on the pillars of American vocal jazz and swing, from Ella Fitzgerald to Etta James.

Spirito positions itself as the nerve center of Florentine folk life.
