On Friday, August 11, at 9.15 pm, Karima, one of the most significant singers in the Italian panorama of recent years, will perform in the magnificent Piazza Cavour in Chiusa di Pesio, accompanied by Piero Frassi on the piano. The appointment is part of the Review of the Accademia in Valle, organized by the Municipality of Chiusa di Pesio, the Association Musicante ed Estemporanea under the artistic direction of Maestro Angelo Vinai, and included in the program of the Contaminazioni 2023 Festival. The initiative is supported by the CRC Foundation and BCC Pianfei and Rocca de’ Baldi.

“Unfiltered” is the name of Karima’s latest album, as well as the “no filters” project, where music, a mixture of jazz and pop music, is presented in an updated acoustic, intimate and even more expressive version. During the show, the singer performs a magnificent selection of timeless hits in a personal and authentic interpretation. “From the moment we first met my co-workers, we felt the need to create a new project in isolation from my previous musical experience that would give me new stimuli,” said Karima. “The development was complex, but at the same time spontaneous and immediate: in two days we recorded everything, choosing a maximum of two recordings for each piece in order to preserve the best emotions that are always conveyed the first time. I was looking for a sound that identified me and we decided to only use acoustic instruments.” In concert, as well as in the recording studio, Karima uses special people, friends and great musicians such as Piero Frassi, who, thanks to his pen and many years of collaboration with Karima, managed to dress her voice in the amazing “Walk on the Wild Side”. , “Tears in Heaven”, “Come Together” and “The Man in the Mirror”.
In Karima’s vocals, the colors of soul, blues and even gospel coexist and express themselves. From Livorno, his hometown, he inherited a susceptibility to pollution. Since childhood, thanks to her talent, she has been involved in music, participating first in Bravo Bravissimo and then in Domenica In. In October 2006, she participates in the Amici di Maria De Filippi program. She takes third place and wins the Critics’ Prize, unanimously awarded by the technical jury, who consider her the most interesting new voice on the Italian music scene. In the same year, Karima signed her first recording contract with Sony Bmg and recorded her first album. Despite his young age, Karima already has a wide and varied creative experience, among which stands out the San Remo Festival in 2009 and, above all, the collaboration with Burt Bacharach. He also opened concerts for Whitney Houston and John Legend. He collaborated with Dado Moroni, Riccardo Fioravanti and Stefano Bagnoli.
