Welcome to La Gazzetta dello Spettacolo, mykey. How are you?
I thank you for this interview and for being able to talk about me and my projects. I’m ready, ready for you to hear my music!
Let’s talk about your artistic beginnings. How did all this come to life?
I’ve always dreamed of being the next Michael Jackson, and as I grew up, I took that dream with me. I am never satisfied with the music, with the beautiful sensations to be experienced.
Which artists have you been inspired by over the years?
George Michael, A-Ha, Abba, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran and, of course, Jackson!
What can you tell us about “Fake Friend”, your latest single, taken from Gemini – Part II. How did this piece come to life?
Fake Friend is closer to the genre of revenge songs: any insult against a specific target is an assertion of one’s self-worth. It expresses the need to recognize the pain of despair, accept your weaknesses, and then make music out of it.
An album in two parts that brings us back to the feelings once again. How did your idea come to life?
This album is double, just like my zodiac, twins. It begins with the integration of one’s duality, with the acceptance of one’s “dark side”, with the awareness of one’s contradictions.
What do you remember about the experience of RAI Gulp Talent Show “Social King”?
I remember it all as a wonderful experience. I was young and I was lucky enough to work with great professionals and grow a lot.
Myky your future projects?
I have the whole summer full of appointments in and out of the store. I have also planned a live concert with my band Disco Paradise. We feature unreleased tracks and covers of pop and dance hits from the 80’s and 90’s.
