NBA Injury Report, Nov. 14: Updates on Joel Embiid, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Trae Young and more

The third round of the NBA In-Season Tournament group stage for most teams will take place on Tuesday, with 10 games to be played in doubleheaders on TNT. Here’s a look at the day’s injury report, along with the associated fantasy and betting implications.

NBA Injury Report: November 14

Hawks vs. Pistons

Trae Young (personal) – Doubtful

If Young ends up missing, Dejounte Murray will be the primary guard. De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic would be solid value options on the DFS roster.

Jalen Duren (ankle) – out

Duren is out again, which means Marvin Bagley should be Detroit’s starting center.

Heat vs. Hornets

Josh Richardson (D) – Possible

Richardson should join the Heat.

Brandon Miller (ankle) – Possible
Gordon Hayward (hamstring) – Possible

Miller’s ankle injury is not serious, which is good news for Charlotte. Both he and Hayward should be available on Tuesday.

Pacers vs. 76ers

Nicolas Batum (personal) – OUT
Joel Embiid (hip) – Questionable

If Embiid misses the first night of a back-to-back for the Sixers, Paul Reed and Mo Bamba will be the primary centers. If the reigning MVP does get a night off, it might be wise to back the Pacers, although Tyrese Maxey’s current form might give bettors a bit of pause.

Magic vs. Nets

Gary Harris (groin) – questionable

If Harris doesn’t play, the Magic will likely insert Anthony Blake and Cole Anthony into the guard rotation and give them more playing time.

Ben Simmons (hip) – out

Simmons is out again, which is starting to become a joke for the Nets. Spencer Dinwiddie and Dennis Smith Jr. look to be Brooklyn’s primary ball-handlers.

Tottenham VS Tottenham Thunder

Jeremy Souchon (groin) – questionable
Keldon Johnson (knee) – doubtful
Tre Jones (hamstring) – questionable

No matter what happens with these players, Devin Vassell will play a big role. If Jones and Johnson take office, Malachi Branham may be the biggest beneficiary.

Mavericks vs. Mavericks Pelicans

Herbert Jones (knee) – doubtful

If Jones doesn’t play, you might root for Dallas’ wings like Grant Williams and Tim Hardaway Jr. to get better looks. For New Orleans, Jordan Hawkins and Najee Marshall will likely soak up those minutes.

Trail Blazers vs. Trail Blazers Jazz

Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring) – out

With Brogdon sidelined and Scott Henderson expected to miss several weeks, Shaden Sharpe remains a high-usage fantasy/DFS option.

John Collins (ankle) – Possible

The combo big man should go to Utah.

Clippers vs. Clippers Nuggets

Neither team currently has any significant day-to-day injuries.

Timberwolves vs. Warriors

Stephen Curry (knee) – questionable

Chris Paul and Brandin Pozzimski will be Golden State’s point guard options if Curry is unable to play the first night of a back-to-back for the Warriors.

Grizzlies vs. Lakers

Xavier Tillman (knee) – doubtful

Tillman is returning and would be a nice value-add in a DFS lineup with Memphis lacking big men. Bismack Biyombo will likely still start, but Tillman will have an advantage as a backup.

Anthony Davis (hip/groin) – Possible
LeBron James (Mavericks) – Questionable

The Lakers are in the first night of a back-to-back, and Wednesday’s game is a nationally televised game, so they theoretically can’t rest Davis and James at the same time. It could be a situation where one person plays on Tuesday and the other plays on Wednesday. If James sits, Hachimura looks like he’ll start like he did on Sunday.
