The Callisto Protocol by Striking Distance Studios, led by industry veteran Glen Schofield and former vice president of Visceral Games, will be the spiritual successor to the sci-fi horror series Dead Space. To commemorate the 39th anniversary of John Carpenter’s The Thing – which had a huge impact on the aesthetics and tone of Dead Space – Schofield recently tweeted new concept art.
39 years ago @TheHorrorMaster’s film #TheThing first appeared in theaters. It had a huge influence on #DeadSpace and continues to inspire me today. To celebrate I thought I’d share some new concept art from @CallistoTheGame pic.twitter.com/dvMtcJYDEg

As you can see, the new concept art conveys some of the core motifs of John Carpenter and Dead Space. From the appearance of the necromorph-like monster in the center of the image to the green holographic writing on the blood-drenched pillar on the left, there are certainly echoes of otherworldly interplanetary dread on USS Ishimura.
The Callisto Protocol Set To Release In 2022 For PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
