According to the latest COVID-19 epidemiological bulletin for the state of Minas Gerais, 22,026 Minas Gerais people were infected with the virus within 30 days.

To avoid a new epidemic or pandemic, it is necessary to take basic care, wear a mask, have flu symptoms, and most importantly, get vaccinated. Find the health station closest to your home and drop off your vaccine card that day.

Covid – non-pharmaceutical measures

Use of masks: For people with flu symptoms, suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19; People who have been in close contact with suspected/confirmed cases of Covid-19; People with risk factors for Covid-19 complications (especially immunosuppression, people with disabilities, pregnant women and people with multiple comorbidities) and in situations where there is a greater risk of contamination, such as old and poorly ventilated premises, congregate and health service settings.

Hand hygiene: One of the most effective measures to reduce the spread of respiratory borne diseases. It can be mixed with 70% alcohol or water and sabão.

Breathe tags: Cover your nose and mouth with a paper or forearm when coughing or exhaling, and do not eat anything else; Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth of unsterilized children; Stay at least one meter away from anyone you touch or exhale distance; avoid physical contact with people with flu symptoms, whether or not wearing a mask; do not share personal items without proper hygiene.

According to the latest evidence, SARS-CoV-2, like other respiratory viruses, is mainly transmitted through contact, droplets or aerosols.

*Contact transmission means infection through direct contact with an infected person.

*Droplet transmission refers to the infection that occurs when an infected person comes into contact with respiratory droplets containing the virus when he or she coughs or breathes, especially within 1 meter of the outdoors.

*Aerosol transmission is an infection caused by tiny respiratory droplets (aerosols) containing the virus, which can remain suspended but do not travel more than 1 meter and for an extended period of time (usually several hours).

The Ministry of Health has adapted the antiviral drug NIRMATRELVIR/RITONAVIR – NMV/R for the treatment of covid-19 to two specific patient groups: immunosuppressed patients aged 18 years or above and patients aged 65 years or above.

To get treatment or be accepted as a patient, you must:

*Ter covid-19 confirmed by rapid or lab test.
*This is the first five days before both symptoms appear.
*Present mild or moderate clinical symptoms (covid-19 is not severe).

Other patients do not choose to use antiviral drugs and must receive symptomatic treatment when necessary.
