Fresh photos from the shooting of the movie “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” show a new look at the hero’s costume and its damaged condition.
Filming is currently taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, and several behind-the-scenes images have surfaced online due to his public filming locations. The footage was posted on a Twitter account nearing, who accidentally saw Levi running down the street in full superhero gear. The user took several photos showing significant damage to the left side and arm of Shazam’s suit.
Due to the nature of these photos, it is unclear what or who caused the damage to the character’s costume. The most likely explanation is that it has to do with the film’s main villains, as Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Calypso (Lucy Liu) are demigods who can prove powerful enough to do this kind of damage. Since both characters are not actually from DC Comics but are drawn from Greek mythology, it is unknown what their abilities will be. But some type of magic is quite likely, and it is he who can cause the hero’s injury.
Note that the suit was never damaged in the first film, even when Shazam fought the Seven Deadly Sins and Doctor Sivana. Apparently, “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” will change this, as the pictures clearly show the threat to the hero posed by the new villains. It is also possible that the damage done to Shazam’s suit could be related to Billy Batson’s story, which could have been weakened as a result.
