Brady added that fans have “a lot” in front of their eyes when watching games, while players on the field are more “living in the moment.”
“I think when you’re a fan, you obviously see a lot, hear a lot. The commentators say a lot. You have the score there. You lay out the timeouts. Everything goes to you. That’s not necessarily what happens when you That’s how it is when you’re a player. You just live in the moment.”

Brady is expected to eventually move to the broadcast room and said he is paying close attention to how TV announcers call games.
“I’m taking it all in. I’m trying to actually listen a little bit from a broadcaster’s perspective and how they’re calling the game, you know, I would say, focusing more on the broadcast element. The 46-year-old appears to be adjusting to retirement, noting that he has been prioritizing his health.

He also mentioned that he can now focus on his family.
“There are so many other things you can prioritize — career, kids, relationships, family, the greater good, community.”

Brady also criticized NFL officiating and suggested the league could become something similar to flag football.
“There’s a lot of people who want the sport to become less physical. It’s more like flag football, which is going to be in the Olympics in 2028,” Brady said. “Maybe football will go to flag football for a while.”
But Brady did note that he believes referee calls tend to “play out throughout the season.”
