The NFL’s first female coach says Tom Brady’s recent investment in the WNBA likely won’t be his last push for women’s sports.

Dr. Jen Welter, who shattered the league’s glass ceiling when she was hired as an intern coach by Bruce Arians’ Arizona Cardinals in 2015, is confident Brady won’t stop participating in one of his latest ventures.

Earlier this year, Brady invested in a small stake in the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces.

Welter said the future Hall of Fame quarterback is off to a good start and could benefit for years to come.

“I think Tom Brady has done a very good job, first of all, by making very smart investments to expand his influence in sports. Really smart people know that in the long run, the ROI (return on investment) in women It would be much higher,” Welter told People.

“One thing people don’t realize is when you start at the top, you have to stay at the top. In terms of men’s sports, the (Washington) Commanders are selling for $6 billion? Anything you do if If it’s not worth billions of dollars, you wouldn’t even join the club.”

Welter said Brady’s investment in the Aces not only set a trend among former athletes, but was ahead of the curve.

“We are only now starting to see the progress and upward potential in women’s sports,” she said.

Welter also cited Brady’s daughter as the reason he made the investment, adding, “If we all lived with empathy, we would have a better world. But when you start seeing the world through the eyes of someone who means everything to you, everything changes.

“There are very few female dads who don’t look at the world and want the best for their daughters, just like they do for their own sons.

Cheers to Tom Brady. I like the investment and I think he will do more. “

Welter is currently the linebackers coach for the XFL’s Vegas Vipers. She is a two-time gold medalist at the Women’s World Rugby Championship.
