Nike to open first Michael Jordan Brand store in U.S.

America will soon get its own Flying World store in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. The Michael Jordan Brand store will reportedly be located at 1617 Walnut Street in a two-story building built in 1921, giving the store historical significance in addition to its modern appeal.

This will be the fourth “Flying World” store in the world after Italy, Japan and Dubai.

According to Nike’s application to the Philadelphia Historical Commission, the design concept for the latest “Flying World” is “Inspired by the intersection of Philadelphia’s historic architecture and the Jordan brand. ”

In addition, Nike also mentioned, “Jordan The World of Flight in Philadelphia will create a timeless, thoughtfully designed store that contributes to the community and streetscape character. A clean design language combined with materiality and detailing throughout achieves a store that conveys a sense of history and A timeless look/feel.”

No opening date set yet

With 7,000 square feet of space, Jordan Brand will have plenty of room to showcase its signature sneakers and apparel. Although Michael Jordan retired in 2003, Jordan Brand remains a global giant in sports and fashion. Their iconic Air Jordan sneakers remain highly sought after by sneakerheads and athletes alike, with limited editions often selling out within minutes.
