After another UEFA draw took too long, we now know the group composition for Euro 2024, which will be held in Germany next summer. There’s no real “Group of Death,” but Spain, defending champions Italy and Croatia are all in the same group, while favorite France is in the same group as the Netherlands and Austria.
Elsewhere, England’s hopes of winning a major tournament for the first time since 1966 have been given a huge boost as the Three Lions face Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia in Group C. In-form Portugal will also be delighted with their fortunes after being drawn against Turkey, Czech Republic and the winner of play-off route B will be Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan or Luxembourg.
A resurgent Belgium should easily beat Romania, Slovakia and the play-off route B winners (Israel, Iceland, Ukraine or Bosnia and Herzegovina), and despite Germany’s recent poor form, they are cautiously optimistic about progress in the group stages. Scotland, Switzerland and Hungary.
