Noah Cyrus has seemingly fueled rumors that she’s feuding with sister Miley Cyrus after she commented on a resurfaced video of Miley talking about her on a podcast.
Fans speculated that there was a feud in the Cyrus family following the breakup of Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus. Now, a new comment from their youngest child, Noah, has social media users believing that the rumors are true.
In September 2020, Miley appeared on the channel The Joe Rogan Experience podcast to promote her seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts. Speaking with host Joe Rogan, Hanna Montana The star was asked about Noah’s experience growing up in the spotlight of his older sister.
“You can go one way or the other, right? You can be my little sister if that’s what you want,” Miley told Rogan, suggesting her 23-year-old sister has the same desire for fame.
When the Disney Channel alum released her little sister’s EP, The end of everything she described the record as “the most depressing EP you’ll ever listen to.”
“She’s emo, she’s like an emo kid,” Miley continued, before launching into the lyrics to one of Noah’s songs, “Young & Sad.”
“My sister is like sunshine, he will follow her wherever she goes. But I’m more like a rain cloud,” she read the lyrics. “She really has this idea of me,” Miley said, before Rogan suggested, “Maybe (Noah) needs to go to the doctor.”
“Yes, we all visit the doctor often. We have, like, a salaried doctor,” she answered, laughing. “She’s coping with it, but she’s only 20, so I’m worried about her.”
Although the podcast interview took place over three years ago, it seemed like a new clip had recently surfaced on Noah’s social media. In a screenshot taken by @MileyCyrusBz, Noah commented: “Disrespectful in this video…”
The resurfaced clip went viral on X – formerly known as Twitter – as many fans debated whether Miley was being disrespectful to Noah on Rogan’s podcast. However, others defended the “Flowers” singer’s comments, claiming she was simply looking out for her little sister.
“I’m confused,” one person wrote. “Does (Noah) mean Joe was disrespectful, or Miley, or both? I think Miley was just being frivolous/funny while still defending her.”
One user responded: “I think she’s saying Miley is talking disrespectfully about her.”
“I can see how this might hurt Noah’s feelings,” a third person chimed in. “Miley talks about Noah being depressed and going to the doctor and being emo and sad all the time. She shouldn’t have said all this.
“Miley praises (Noah’s) music and feels guilty about the pressure being a famous big sister puts on her, and what is Noah’s reaction three years later? Ugh,” said another user.
“Maybe there’s more to this story that we don’t know,” someone else wrote. “It’s important not to jump to conclusions.”
There have been many rumors about the Cyrus siblings splitting up after their parents, Tish and Billy Ray, finalized their divorce in April 2022 after 30 years of marriage. Tish, 56, has since moved to Jail break star Dominic Purcell, who got married last August. Meanwhile, the 62-year-old “Achy Breaky Heart” singer began a relationship with the 34-year-old Firerose singer.
Miley was a bridesmaid at her mother Tish’s wedding, which was also attended by her older siblings Brandi and Trace Cyrus. However, many fans noticed that her younger siblings Braison, 29, and Noah did not attend their mother’s wedding.
On the same day as their mother’s wedding, Noah shared photos on her Instagram Story of her and Brayson together—clearly not at Tish’s intimate poolside wedding ceremony in Malibu. Instead, the siblings posed for photos at a restaurant as Noah wrote in her Story that Brayson “flew out” to see her in Los Angeles. In another Story post, the “July” singer also wore a T-shirt with her father Billy Ray’s face on it.
None of Cyrus’ family members have commented on the feud rumors. However, fans have taken to Miley’s Instagram follower list to see how she feels about her father, with whom she co-starred on the Disney Channel series. Hanna Montana.
The famous father-daughter duo does not currently follow each other on Instagram. She also released her single “Used to Be Young” on August 25, Billy Ray’s birthday.
On October 10, the country music star tied the knot with Fairrosa, whose real name is Joanna Rosie Hodges. He met the 34-year-old singer somewhere on the set of a film Hanna Montana, which ran from 2006 to 2011.
