The producer turned to Sharon Stone with an unusual request
In 2021, Sharon Stone spoke about her upcoming memoir: The beauty of living twicewhere she delves into the various instances of exploitation she has faced as a woman in Hollywood during the #MeToo era.
Sharon Stone has recounted a disturbing incident when a producer invited her into his office. He suggested that she enter into a physical relationship with her co-star to create on-screen chemistry. Stone was confused by the proposal, especially if he put the producer in the same context as Ava Gardner.
Stone said in her memoir (via Vanity Fair)
“I watched the chocolate balls roll around and thought, ‘You guys insisted on this actor when he couldn’t do a single scene on the test… Now you think if I fuck him, he’ll be a great actor?’ Nobody is that good in bed. I felt like they could have just hired a talented co-star, someone who could direct a scene and remember his lines. I also felt like they could fuck him themselves and leave me out of it. It was my job to act, and I said so. This was not a popular answer. I was considered difficult.”
Stone clarified that she declined the offer, although the actor still did “several random passages” She also said that this is not an isolated incident: there were other cases when producers suggested that she enter into an intimate relationship with a co-star.

Sharon Stone almost turned down an Oscar-worthy role
