“Council Skies”, the tribute to the city of Manchester

Council Skiesthe new album by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, will be released on June 2, 2023. This is Noel’s fourth solo musical project and it was anticipated by the release of two singles: “Pretty Boy”a psychedelic new wave track that boasts of the precious collaboration of Jonny Marr of the SmithsAnd “Easy Now”, classic orchestral ballad loved by all Oasis nostalgics. This second single from the disc, by the way, has an extraordinary video clips directed by olin Salil Cardo which foresees the participation of theactress Australian Milly Alcock, famous for her role as a princess in the acclaimed series House of the Dragon. “Council Skies” is a return to the origins, a daydream and a journey into the past. The cover is a tribute to the city of Manchester, as well as a photo taken by photographer Kevin Cummins which captures the band’s live instrumentation positioned right where it once stood Maine Road Football Stadiumi.e. the home of Manchester City from 1923 to 2003. The title of the album, on the other hand, derives from the book by illustrator Pete McKeee, a great friend of Noel.
