The North Carolina basketball team suffered an upset loss to Clemson 80-76 on Tuesday, but it wasn’t all bad news for Tar Heel point guard RJ Davis.
The point guard scored 22 points in the loss to move past Michael Jordan into 15th place on the all-time North Carolina basketball scoring list, according to Zagsblog.com’s Sam Lance:

Power forward PJ Hall scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Meanwhile, Joseph Girard III scored 21 points, three assists and six rebounds, while Ian Shiferin had a double-double with 14 points.
Additionally, Chase Hunter defeated North Carolina basketball’s Elliot Cadeau in a guard duel. The Tarheels got solid efforts from seniors Armando Bacot and RJ Davis. Bacot scored 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Davis contributed 22 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
In retrospect, it already seems ominous that the Tar Heels would fall victim to Clemson, based on reports that several players were late for pregame warmups.
North Carolina basketball head coach Hubert Davis echoed the sentiment after the game, saying “I didn’t particularly like or dislike the practice leading up to tonight’s game.”
