The Diversity Fund is reaffirming its commitment to diversifying the film industry by offering six general scholarships, aimed at people from underrepresented groups, for a three-year dubbing course at the prestigious Voice Art dubbing school.

Registration is open until September 15.

The Diversity Foundation reaffirms its commitment to diversifying the film industry, particularly in the dubbing sector, by announcing the first competition for the Diversity – For Dubbing scholarship, created in collaboration with the prestigious voice art dubbing school.

The announcement, presented at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, will award six scholarships to fully cover the three-year Voice Art Dubbing course to support aspiring professionals in the world of dubbing from underrepresented groups.

The project was created by a highly experienced DE&I team with the goal of providing opportunities and professionalism, identifying actors who have historically had difficulty accessing these types of training and work opportunities, with the goal of promoting and specifically supporting inclusivity in film. professions that give new life to the entire audiovisual industry.

Awarded “for the high value expressed in the teaching of its students” at the Tonino Accolla Award as “Best Dubbing School in Italy 2022” (and also from 2015 to 2018), the Voice Art dubbing school boasts the collaboration of teachers such as Bruno Alessandro, Chiara Colizzi, Maria Pia Di Meo, Luca dal Fabbro, Angiola Baggi, Emanuela Rossi, Davide Perino and Antonio Palumbo, voice actors and dubbing directors who have voiced actors such as Meryl Streep, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Steve Buscemi. , Elijah Wood, Susan Sarandon and many others.

“This project will allow people with visible or invisible disabilities, racist or transgender people to complete the entire course in one of the best Italian dubbing schools,” says Francesca Vecchioni, President of Diversity. The initiative aims to offer a concrete professional development opportunity and help fill this gap in the behind-the-scenes supply chain, which does not always allow all people in Italy to have access to film professions. The international panorama has long shown us that diversification is a fundamental element of growth, enrichment, innovation and the future of the sector.”

Francesca Vecchioni herself presented the project in Venice, where she has been bringing the Foundation’s message and work on the portrayal of people in cinema, both on screen and behind the scenes, for several years now.

Francesca Vecchioni in Venice was also a guest of “A Toast to the Cause”, an event organized in 2009 by Moët & Chandon to celebrate the Maison’s commitment to supporting the charity, which this year also decided to support the Diversity Fund, in promoting a culture of inclusion in the world of cinema.

The course will include two years of classes and one year of practice at the dubbing school’s offices in Rome and Naples or online. Fondazione Diversity will also follow up with those who wish to benefit from accompanying and tutoring services during their first year of study.
