The Indian Wells Masters showdown between Novak Djokovic and Luca Nardi was filled with drama. In the second set, the current number one briefly stopped at his Italian opponent’s midfield before haphazardly pushing the ball back in front of and behind the net, challenging the chair umpire on the grounds of an unobstructed call. Djokovic is still hung up on that incident, engaging in an ugly net exchange with Nardi that later drew the attention of many, including Serena Williams Former coach Rene Stubbs.
While congratulating his 20-year-old opponent on his victory, the Serbian player said a few words to Nardi in front of the net, which translated to: “It’s not fair, but it’s well done.” In this regard, Stubbs also recently stood up and slammed Djokovic for his “unprofessional” behavior on the court.
In the latest episode of Racquet’s Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast, the Australian coach opened up about the controversial BNP Paribas Open incident between Djokovic and Nardi. she says, “If your opponent doesn’t hit the ball, I’m going to crush him with a penalty in the air and you look at that guy and then he gives him shit on the net? That’s so unprofessional. In my opinion, you You can’t say, man, you’re wrong.”

When she spoke out about her candidacy over the Serbian’s “unprofessional” behavior, Stubbs publicly said the young Italian player was like a “poor child”. she says, “Hey, good job though. It’s like he’s a poor kid, and that poor kid looks like he just got scolded by his dad. He’s like, he doesn’t know if he should celebrate or be like, Oh my God, I Just, it was the best day of my life. But my dad just told me that I sucked as a person. “I was like, oh, poor guy. “
The Australian coach’s recent unfiltered comments will no doubt anger ‘Dyock’s fan base. However, this isn’t the first time Stubbs has made some controversial remarks about Djokovic.
In a previous episode of the podcast, Rene Stubbs talked about why she thinks the Serbian is more obsessed with winning on the court than his arch-rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The former tennis player said, “I think Roger and Rafa are definitely guys who want to win a lot, but Novak is obsessed with it and you can see that.”
