Baariascriptwriter and director Giuseppe Tornatore, this is a 2009 film. The action takes place in Bagheria and this is a tribute to the director’s homeland – Sicily. Tells fifty years of Italian history through the events of three generations of a Sicilian family.
Candidate for Golden Globe 2010 as best foreign film and with 14 nominations David Donatello, Baaria is one of the most famous Italian films of the 2000s. To tell the story Sicily in the most authentic way, Tornatore decided to rely on actors of predominantly Sicilian originwho could realistically recite the local dialect.

Plot of the film Baaria
The film covers a long period of time from 1930s to 1980s twentieth century and intertwined with events history of the country. Like the fascist regime, entry into the war, the Allied landings in Sicily, the referendum on the republic, the advent of television, political clashes and the 1972 political elections.
The plot of the film tells about life family from the municipality of Bagheria after three generations. The first is Ciccio, from childhood forced to work as a farmer and shepherd. son of Ciccio Peppino TorrenuovaA rebel since childhood, he joined the Communist Party.
Peppino falls in love with Mannina, a relationship that her family is opposed to. From their union will be born Peter which, like his father and grandfather, he will continue new battles, and around him the country is transforming even more.
