The first trailer for Bob Marley: One Love has been released, featuring Kingsley Ben-Adir as the reggae legend. The film will be released in theaters in 2024.
Paramount Pictures has just shared the trailer for the film. Bob Marley: One Love, the highly anticipated biopic that explores the life and creative career of the reggae music legend, the protagonist of the true cultural revolution of the 60s. The Jamaican singer, songwriter, guitarist and activist will have an actor’s face on screen. Kingsley Ben Adir.
The images in the trailer seem to show not only the artistic side of Marley’s personality, but above all his political commitment, culminating in a failed assassination attempt in 1976 when he was the victim of a shooting at his home in Kingston, Jamaica. At the same time, the artist was wounded in the chest and arm, and his wife – in the head; both survived, as did manager Don Taylor, who was also involved in the bombing.
Bob Marley: One Love therefore aims above all to reconstruct the social and political impact of Marly’s life, a real revolution which, with its pacifist message and universal fraternity, will inspire future generations of artists. The musician famously died in 1981 at the age of just 36 due to a tumor, after a career littered with songs that would go down in history.
The biopic, produced in collaboration with the Marley family, stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as a musician and Lashana Lynch as his wife, Rita; directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, already behind the camera for The Winning Family – King Richard. Theatrical distribution of the film in the United States Bob Marley: One Love scheduled for January 12, 2024.
