One of the most anticipated films of this 2023 is definitely Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s latest work starring Cillian Murphy. Director I remember directs an Irish actor in a biopic about famed physicist Julius Robert Oppenheimer and his contributions to the Manhattan Project. Shot on 70mm IMAX film, this film is already available in many countries and as it continues to gain recognition, its box office continues to grow.
Not only the film itself deserves praise, but also the magnificent cast presented by Nolan. As already mentioned, the role of the main character is played by Cillian Murphy, and many praise his performance. The actor dedicated himself to this with all his heart, dedication and determination were his mantra during filming, to the point that he ate the bare minimum to have a gaunt physique. Also Emily Blunt and colleague Robert Downey Jr. received numerous accolades for their acting career.
The film tells about Manhattan Project and the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II. The subsequent use of the bomb gave Oppenheimer a tremendous sense of guilt that tore him apart for the rest of his life. Nolan recently released statements regarding this part of the scientist’s life and how he wanted to present it in his film.

Oppenheimer: Nolan’s words
The considered part of the film is dedicated to the success Trinity test, the first explosion of a nuclear weapon in human history. The scene shows Oppenheimer announcing the success of the attack on Hiroshimathe sound of people screaming is instantly cut off, as is the delayed sound of the explosion.
This is probably one of the most important and poignant scenes we will see in this film. August 23. Oppenheimer’s visions are the director’s way of conveying his guilt. On this occasion, Nolan said:
“The whole movie is about consequences. They are presented differently in the film. Oppenheimer never openly apologized for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but as I delved into his history, I realized that, in fact, from the day the atomic bomb fell, he began to act like someone tormented by a strong sense of guilt. I had to be true to my interpretation of his inner turmoil.”

The film will soon be in Italian cinemas and it is highly recommended to watch it in one of our IMAX theaters to better enjoy the Christopher Nolan experience.
