Oppenheimer: Christopher Nolan and actors talk about the main characters of the film

Oppenheimer As we know this is a biopic and historical film and of course Christopher Nolan drew on a great cast who, in this new official short film with Italian subtitles, tells us about his approach to the characters and their contributions. Nolan talks about how he wrote a first-person script (which is unusual for him) precisely to emphasize the individuality of a historical event, while Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon talk about their characters. and the responsibility they felt giving them authenticity.

Oppenheimer is also a historical thriller of sorts, filmed in IMAX using the latest technology and immersing viewers in the gripping paradoxical story of a mysterious man who must “…risk destroying the world to save it“. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Byrd and Martin Sherwin. The film was produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment and Christopher Nolan. Oppenheimer is shot on both 65mm IMAX film and widescreen 65mm film, which for the first time in cinematic history includes sections of analog IMAX black-and-white photography.

The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer and Emily Blunt as his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Oscar winner Matt Damon plays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, the founding commissioner of the US Atomic Energy Commission. Academy Award nominee Florence Pugh plays psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie plays theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber, and Josh Hartnett plays pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. Oppenheimer also stars Academy Award winner Rami Malek and reunites Nolan with eight-time Oscar nominee actor, writer and director Kenneth Branagh, with whom he previously collaborated on Dunkirk. The cast also includes Dane DeHaan, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich and Matthew Modine. Nolan’s films, including Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy, have grossed over $5 billion worldwide, earning him 11 Oscars and 36 nominations, including two nominations for best film.
