A black satin glove, to cover that hand paralyzed by the 2008 accident. Morgan Freeman at the night of the Oscars 2023 was on stage together with Margot Robbie: together they celebrated 100 years of Warner Bros. Freeman wore a black tuxedo, her colleague a black dress with covered shoulders. The accident is known history, but not to everyone: the actor was injured in 2008 after his car overturned several times on a Mississippi highway. Doctors promised he would improve within a few years, yet the actor’s left hand was paralyzed due to severe nerve damage. Hence the decision to wear a compression glove to help blood flow.
Morgan Freeman thus spoke of the accident
Speaking about the incident, Morgan Freeman always told. “I suffered nerve damage and it hasn’t gotten better. I can’t move it. And if you don’t move your hand, you know it’s going to swell. Did you know that we move our hand about a million times a day?”
