U.S. President Joe Biden and other G20 leaders will hold a summit in the Indian capital New Delhi over the weekend to focus on crises caused by international debt, food security and climate change. Biden will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday ahead of the summit. Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend the summit; the Chinese delegation will be led by the Prime Minister. On the eve of the meeting, British charity Oxfam accused G20 countries of failing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to levels needed to avoid climate catastrophe.secretary general United NationsAntonio Guterres also expressed this concern at the African Climate Summit earlier this week.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres: “The G20 countries meeting in New Delhi this week are responsible for 80% of emissions and must shoulder their responsibility. “Developed countries must commit to near-zero net carbon emissions by 2040. “
