Paquita La del Barrio recovers and is ready for Ana Bárbara’s tribute at the Billboard Awards

Even with the damage left by a severe cold that she had days ago, Paquita la del Barrio has recovered and is ready to be honored tonight as the greats on stage.

The 74-year-old Mexican regional singer traveled from Veracruz to Miami on Tuesday, as she will be awarded the top Billboard Award for Artistic Career today at the Billboard Latin ceremony.

This recognition, which has been awarded to personalities such as Armando Manzanero, Juan Luis Guerra, Maná, Marco Antonio Solís, Ricardo Arjona, Roberto Carlos and José José, among others, motivated the interpreter of “Rata de Dos Patas” to make an effort and take this trip.

Installed in her hotel, Paquita answered the phone to announce that she was waiting for the right moment of the ceremony in which she plans to sing in addition to receiving her award.

“I arrived last night (Tuesday), I am hoping that by tomorrow (today) it will be ready. I had a lot of coughs and flu, I have resented it. I feel a little weak, let’s see what comes out, “said the singer in a telephone interview.

With five decades of experience, the interpreter whose life has been portrayed in a series, was positive, and hopes to be 100 for her big night.

“Yes, I’m going to sing, God willing,” said Paquita, “I brought two changing rooms, it doesn’t take much. I’m already at the hotel, resting. We’re fine.”

The most influential figures in Latin music such as J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Camila Cabello, Karol G, Anitta, Natti Natasha, Nicky Jam, Farruko and Rauw Alejandro will be present at the Latin Billboard Awards held today.
