It should be noted that the Chiefs and Mahomes plan to negotiate again after the 2026 season, but everything will depend on the player’s performance in the upcoming NFL Championship.
The 28-year-old Mahomes has been the highest-paid player in the NFL since 2020, when he agreed to a 10-year contract extension worth up to $450 million. Now he’ll be well-incentivized for the next three seasons.
