Patrick Mahomes will receive all of Tom Brady’s career accolades

Tom Brady has accomplished a lot during his 23-year NFL career, to say the least. The future Hall of Fame quarterback is a seven-time Super Bowl champion, five-time Super Bowl MVP, 15-time Pro Bowl selection and holds multiple records with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Catching Brady will never be easy, but Travis Kelce believes his Chiefs teammate — quarterback Patrick Mahomes — will be able to do it during his career.

“Obviously, I get all the respect from Tom Brady,” Kelce said on the “I’m an Athlete” podcast. “I didn’t get close to him in the playoffs, so I met Tom Brady a lot of times in my career, so I got all the love from him. He’s the GOAT and the best of all time. But I think Now with Pat’s speed, his play, I think it’s more Pat than Brady.”

Kelce noted that Brady has had a ton of elite weapons on both sides of the ball throughout his career, while Mahomes, a two-time Super Bowl champion, has had to do what he has done so far with less money. While this may be arguable, Mahomes has benefited greatly from having Kelce and Tyreek Hill in his possession.

“I just think One Five has the ability to find a way to get things done even if things break down or he has to make crazy throws down the field that you never see in the NFL,” Kelce said. . “He’s been doing it since his first shot and I think he’s going to be playing for a long, long time.”

“I think he’s going to get all the accolades, but I think the most important thing will always be the Super Bowl,” he added. “That’s a lot of Super Bowls.”

Mahomes has an uphill battle to catch Brady for Super Bowl wins, with five wins remaining before he ties Brady. Whether that happens remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt that what Mahomes has done so far has been impressive.
