Patriots fans tired of start of season – NBC Boston

It’s been a tough season for the Patriots. They haven’t made such a start since 1995 and fans are worried about the future of the team.

“They definitely have issues. But I still think they have time to figure it out. I don’t think they’re going to make the playoffs this year,” one fan told NBC10 Boston on Monday.

One plus five. This does not bode well for the Patriots, who have dominated the NFL for decades. They are now on the verge of missing the playoffs — for the third time in four years.

“They end the season and you know very little and then you have to ruin it. I mean clean house,” said another fan.

New England did play better in Las Vegas on Sunday after another slow start, but ultimately fell apart due to turnovers and missed opportunities — something that would be difficult for a Bill Belichick-coached ball. It was once unthinkable for the team.

“We did do some things better this week than we did last week or the week before, but ultimately it wasn’t enough. But we’re going to keep working and keep working,” Belichick said.

“I really wanted to win. I did a lot of things this week to do that, but for whatever reason, it didn’t happen on Sunday,” the team’s embattled quarterback Mac Jones told reporters.

The Patriots’ success under Belichick is unparalleled. But that’s not the case without Tom Brady, prompting some to wonder if the future Hall of Fame coach needs to step aside — contrary to Foxborough’s unofficial motto of “We Trust Bill.”

“I never questioned this hoodie until this year. I think maybe it’s time for me to retire. See if someone else can, or let him just focus on the game and let others decide on the players,” one fan said.

Unlike previous starters, Mac Jones managed to stay in the entire game yesterday. He hasn’t instilled much confidence in fans, but some still don’t seem to realize that No. 12 isn’t walking through that door.

“I don’t know. I just think we need Brady back. I think he’s the main star. Him and Gronk.”

The Patriots have another chance to turn things around this weekend. They will host the Bills on Sunday in Foxborough.
