They compiled lists of America’s biggest stars in music, acting, sports and comedy to determine which US states produced the most talent. This study included searching for information on celebrities from each state, in categories such as actors and actresses, singers and rappers, comedians and athletes, including basketball, football, baseball and hockey players.

For each category, they counted the number of celebrities born in each state to come up with a ranking. They then combined the results from all four categories to create an overall ranking. It is worth noting that the category of singers and rappers does not include musical groups, since group members may come from different states.

Pennsylvania is one of the five states where the most famous people were born.

In fourth place is Pennsylvania, with a total of 6,474 celebrities born in the state. This group includes 1,110 actors and actresses, including famous names such as Will Smith, Bradley Cooper, Tina Fey, Kevin Bacon, Grace Kelly and Kevin Hart. Interestingly, Pennsylvania produced more athletes (4,697) than singers (608). Some of their most famous names are Taylor Swift, Joan Jett, Patti LaBelle, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlin and Arnold Palmer.

California stands out as a leading producer of talent, with approximately 12,800 famous people born in the state. This includes more than 6,100 actors and actresses, including names such as Angelina Jolie, Ben Affleck, Zendaya and Zac Efron. The state is also home to more than 2,600 singers and rappers, including Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean and Cher.

Additionally, California has a strong presence in the athlete category, with over 3,400 athletes hailing from the state.
