Angelina Jolie is one of the Hollywood stars more committed to the environment and the preservation of endangered animal species. To promote their ideals of care and protection, the UNESCO appointed her godmother of the beekeeper support programme ‘Women for Bees’.
The 46-year-old actress attended the opening act of the training workshop for ten women belonging to five biosphere reserves that will obtain certification as beekeepers, as well as have learned to perform the necessary tasks for the conservation of bees by knowledge, both practical; as theorists.
Jolie collaborated with the French cosmetics and perfume company Guerlain, which agreed to participate in the project together with the Gallic Beekeeping Observatory.
The program began on June 21 with a presentation ceremony and opening of the classes and awarded each participant their corresponding credentials for the realization of the course.
subsequently Angelina Jolie accompanied the future beekeepers in their work of observation in honeycombs and application of the first lessons, in the small enclosure established in the OFFA Domaine de la Sainte-Baume in French Provence.
The world-famous performer was photographed by paparazzi while sharing moments of complicity with the students of the workshop, while sporting a dazzling smile under the protective suit for beekeeping.
He went 3 days without showering to cover himself with bees
Angelina wanted to star in some stunning and beautiful images made by photographer Dan Winters for National Geographic by the World Bee Day with the aim of raising awareness about the protection of these insects.
Thus, Jolie appears full of bees that run all over her body: “With all that concerns us in the world, and so many people who are overwhelmed by the bad news and the reality of what is collapsing, this is something we can handle“, said the actress in the magazine of National Geographic. “Certainly, we can all step in and do our part“, he says.
“I don’t think many people know the damage he’s doing. Many are simply trying to get through the day. They want to do good. They don’t want to be destructive. They don’t know what to buy. Don’t know what to use. So I think part of this is wanting to help make it simple for everybody, because I need it“, he added.
He then explained that taking care of bees, or the environment, is something that every parent can do as a family and, in addition, it is for the benefit of their children to leave them a better future: “I have six children and a lot is happening. I don’t know how to be perfect at all. So, we have to help to simplify the path, and this is something we can do with our children“.
