PhotoVogue’s Global Call to Action: everything you need to know to participate

opens today, March 1, 2023, the second PhotoVogue global Open Call with one goal: to identify the most talented artists in the world and give them the opportunity to emerge and work within the Condé Nast Global Network. This year’s theme – What is Beauty? – invites us to go beyond the traditional idea of ​​beauty to investigate its meaning.

The idea of ​​beauty is continuous evolution. We are no longer constrained by gender, perfection and homogeneity: beauty is not an overcoming based on antiquated norms, it is ever expanding and ever changing. Never before has the expression been more diversified and the representation wider.

We are looking for artists who work on more formatswhether through photography, video or both and all kinds of visual aesthetics will be welcomed, from realism to fantasy, from documentary inspiration to glam, from direct to suggestive. We will also accept projects created with theAIprovided that its use is declared.

Applications to be made on Picter – which are free and must be sent by May 15, 2023 – will be evaluated by Condé Nast staff from around the world. With judges from as many different backgrounds as possible, PhotoVogue will build an inclusive and diverse view with room for every kind of visual aesthetic.

They will also be selected two artists who will submit the most compelling and meaningful work and each will be awarded a grant of 5 thousand dollars to promote them and support their growth.

A real opportunity: there are in fact 26 international editions of Vogue, each with its own distinct aesthetic and style. Not only that: the goal is to grow our community by including artists who express themselves through all types of media.

In the past, PhotoVogue has helped launch the careers of numerous artists internationally by featuring them in Vogue Italia and on its website, showcasing their work in exhibitions and collaborating in branded content with major brands. Just to name a few, some PhotoVogue-endorsed artists who have ended up shooting the covers of Vogue editions around the world include Kennedi Carter, Camila Falquez, Nadine Ijewere, Mous Lamrabat and Sonia Szostack. Now that we are involving all editions of Vogue globally, the possibilities to present artists from different backgrounds, countries and aesthetics have multiplied.

How to participate:

The Open Call will take place on Picter from today, 1st Marchto the May 15th and the submission will be completely free. In a few days the names of the jury will also be revealed (you will always find them in this article).
