Scenario
Based on the novel by fashion journalist Sarah Gay Forden called The Gucci Saga. A true story about fashion, greed and crime, the House of Gucci combines several elements of fiction with the reconstruction of real events.
Towards the end of the seventies, the Gucci fashion house experienced a moment of crisis, caused both by questionable financial practices and the failure to renew the brand with stylistic proposals consistent with its name.
The sons of the founder Guccio are not far-sighted enough in the development of the company. Aldo is more extroverted and attentive to change, Rodolfo is clearly more traditionalist. Their sons, Paolo and Maurizio, respectively, have different ideas about the future of the Gucci house: one would like to become a stylist himself, the other is more interested in studying law. Maurizio himself would be the first to make an unexpected decision: to marry Patrizia, an ambitious woman who clearly wanted rapid social ascent.
However, the new figure of the Gucci family will prove to be a real ally for some of its members, also because each of them is solely pursuing his own benefit. Aldo will try to convince Maurizio to return to the company, putting aside his personal ambitions, and also go against Paolo’s desire to control the fashion house. For a short period of time, the differences will seem to be resolved, but it is only a matter of time before the conflicts return and Patricia will be the one to fan the flames. Shamelessly using all means, the woman will manage to force Maurizio to take over the management of the Gucci house, but as soon as he comes to power, the man seems to change so much that he removes his wife from the most important decisions and begins a new romantic relationship. Banished and betrayed, Patricia will launch a counterattack before surrendering, stopping at nothing…
Actors
Ridley Scott’s film may not have been well received by many (criticism from the Gucci family was public and furious), but it did have a star-studded cast. They are here as the two main characters, Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci. Lady Gaga AND Adam Driver. TO Salma Hayek playing the enigmatic figure Pina Auriemma, a self-proclaimed “sorceress” convicted of being an intermediary between Reggiani and her ex-husband’s killer. Rodolfo Gucci, Maurizio’s father, plays Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino instead it is Aldo Gucci, the first son of Guccio Gucci, brother of Rodolfo and father of Paolo, played by Jared Leto. Rounding out the cast are Jack Huston as Maurizio Gucci’s closest associate, Domenico De Sole, Reeve Carney as a young Tom Ford, and Camille Cottin as Paola Franchi, Maurizio Gucci’s partner after his split from Patrizia Reggiani.
